The Box League Weekly Update!

Welcome to the last week of the rotation everybody! With the rotation ending next Friday, there is still some time to get those last couple of games in!

Box 1 saw Craig Rothnie taking a 3-0 win over Raymond to almost guarantee his place in the top box next rotation. Raymond is in a precarious position, he’ll be hoping for a win against either of the other two players in the box to maintain his position, whereas a win for either of them against anyone else could push Raymond down to box 2.

No changes this week for Box 2, with everyone still technically capable of making the promotion bracket. Paul Treon is sitting in the top spot, with Paul Wynne in a very close second. However, having played all of his matches, Paul W will be banking on a quiet week in the box to maintain his position, 2 wins from any of those below him could be all it takes to put him in the relegation zone.

Box 3 also remains unchanged, with Edith comfortably sitting at the top of the table. With 3 players not having played a match this rotation it looks like it’s being handed to her on a platter, and leaving open the possibility for three relegations this time around.

In Box 4, Jonathan jumps up to 1st place taking a 3-0 win off of me (the scoreline doesn’t do it justice, i swear). With only 1 match left to play, I still have a slim hope of promotion, but it’s going to be a tight one if the anticipated flurry of matches comes to pass, I could very well find myself going down at the end of this rotation.

In Box 5 nothing has changed, with Robyn sitting in the top spot, nigh uncatchable at this point!

Box 6 is finally off to the races with a win for Andrew O’Connor over James Martin (3-1) taking both of them up to the promotion zone.

Box 7 is where it’s all happening this week, with wins for Robert against Scott (3-1), Scott against David (3-0) and David against Garry (3-1), leaving both Scott and Garry in 1st and 2nd places respectively and both with all their matches played (well done chaps!). Stewart still has a chance at promotion if he can pull of 2 wins against Archie and Robert, but the best hope lies with Archie at the moment, who only needs to take a single game in either of his remaining 2 matches to be promoted, and a single match win to snatch 1st place from Scotts hands.

Box 8 is unchanged, with Jaime in the top spot. the battle for 2nd place continues.

Box 9 is also unchanged, with Angela in 1st place and Hugh hot on her heels, with Alex fighting to make the promotion cut.

Box 10 is also unchanged this week, With Ann in an unassailable position and only 2nd place to fight for.

The Box League Weekly Update!

Hello and welcome back for another update on the comings and goings of the box leagues!

It’s been a quiet one this week with only 3 matches played, presumably due to the Club champs getting up and running and off to a great start! but with now only 2 weeks to get your games in, it’s time to look snappy!

In Box 1 Abid remains king of the hill, with no other matches played.

In Box 2, Craig Bennett makes his debut to the rotation with a 3-2 win over Paul Wynne. The 2 games to Paul were enough to give him 3 points and raise him above Jonny Neil, but it also makes him the second person this rotation to complete all of his matches. Currently in second place, but only 4 points ahead of the current last place, all it takes is for Jonny, Taso or Craig to play a match and that position will slip. Paul is banking now on having time on his side!

Box 3 remains unchanged with Edith in the top spot.

Box 4 deals a blow to myself after losing 3-1 to Adrian in a close match with two 16-14 wins for Adrian. This is enough to stick Adrian up to the top of the box, and for me to float precariously at 2nd from bottom, I’ll need to beat Jonathan next Tuesday for any hope at all of avoiding relegation!

Box 5 is also unchanged with Robyn comfortably taking first place.

Box 6 is also unchanged with not a single match played so far this rotation!

Box 7 remains unchanged with Archie sitting in 1st place, but with several people snapping at his heels.

Box 8 is unchanged with Jaime dominating, it’s going to be interesting to see how far this man can climb!

In Box 9 Alex puts a spanner in Hugh’s ambitions for 1st place. The 3-2 win for Alex keeps him in contention for promotion, but for Hugh it now means he needs to play both of his remaining matches and win at least one of them to have a chance of taking 1st place from Angela.

Box 10 also remains unchanged this week, with Ann having completed and won all of her matches, it’s now just a scramble for 2nd place and promotion between the remaining players.

Keep it up everyone! only 2 weeks left!

The Box League Weekly Update!

Welcome everyone to another weekly update! Sorry for the late posting this week, its been a busy one!

With club champs well up and running there are a flurry of games all over the place! It’s a wonder that any box matches are played at all, but they are bubbling with activity too!

In Box 1, Abid is making his move! Clearly taking the opportunity to size up the competition for the Club Champs, Abid sails through both Craig Rothnie and Raymond to put himself squarely at the top of the box! It was only Craigs ability to take a game off of Abid that left him in second place by a single point. The rest of the box is going to have a hard time time catching Abid now!

In Box 3, Edith finds herself in a similar situation, having won her next match 3-0 against Ruairidh. Things are a bit tighter here, Edith having fallen to Brian earlier in the rotation, so very much still up for grabs to those yet to play a match!

Box 4 still seems very undecided. Jonathan manages to take a win over Adrian (3-1) to put himself in joint 1st place with Ben. It won’t be a position he holds for long, the decider between myself and Adrian is going ahead this evening, and the winner will find himself up in 1st place by 2 clear points. This is going to be a very close faught box!

Boxes 5 and 6 remain unchanged this week. Those in Box 6 are going to have to start thinking about getting their games in, you’re running out of time guys!

In Box 7 Archie is holding onto the top spot by his fingernails as Ramsay come up behind him on the back of a pair of wins over Garry and David. Ramsay’s earlier loss to Scott is the only thing separating Archie and Ramsay now, the deciding games are going to be both players games against Robert, and then against each other! Robert played his first game of the rotation this week, taking a win over Garry, who still sits in 3rd place and within striking distance of the top spot, but with only one match left to play he’s going to need the win to stay in contention!

In Box 8 the games have been flowing thick and fast this week, particularly from Jaime who has managed to clock up 4 separate wins over Kirsten (3-1), Peter (3-0), Sophia (3-0) and Richard (3-0). This leaves Jaime in an almost unassailable 1st place position. Next rotation he’s going to be coming up against some stiff competition!

Box 9 remains mostly unchanged with only one match played. Gordon manages to take a win off of Angela (3-0), putting a slight dent into her triumphant march through the box, although it’s still going to be a tough order for anyone else to catch her at this stage!

In Box 10 we have the first clean sweep of the rotation! Ann manages to put away a pair of wins against Nicola and Steph to put her in an absolutely unassailable 1st place! With all of her matches played, and all of them wins, its fair to say Ann will be looking forward to the challenge of Box 9 next rotation! Goan yer sell Ann!

The Box League Weekly Update!

Welcome back to another weekly update Eagles! We’re now coming to the end of week 4 of this rotation and things are getting feisty!

There are now only 4 weeks left in this rotation folks, plenty of time to get your games in, but it’s time to start thinking about getting started if you haven’t already!

in Box 2 Paul Wynne has already played all of his games following 2 more this week. Unfortunately both ended in defeats, first to Taso (3-0) and then to Jonny (3-0). This leaves Paul with enough points to claim 2nd place, but he won’t be holding his position for long I fear. All it would take is for any of the others below him in the box to play each other and the victor would instantly jump above him. Paul will undoubtedly be turning his attention to club champs and very much pouring every effort into reaching the finals!

Box 3 sees its first game of the rotation, with a victory for Brian over Edith in a 5 game thriller! Edith managed to take the fist 2 games relatively comfortably, but ultimately fell to Brian after 2 very close games and a tie breaker that went Brian’s way. There are some very big names in this box and both Edith and Brian will be fighting hard to maintain position! Perhaps having peoples focus directed on club champs could play to their favour!

In box 7 Archie leap-frogs Scott to take 1st place after a 3-2 belter against Garry Wotherspoon. The newcomer isn’t far behind him however, with a victory over Scott already recorded, he has every chance of chasing Archie up to the finish line in 4 weeks time!

In box 9 the running order is starting to become apparent after Angela takes another win, this time over Janine (3-1), putting her well clear of Hugh in 2nd place. Hugh is making every effort to stay on Angela’s heels however, recording a 3-0 win over Paula to keep him in 2nd place, but his game in hand will not be enough to catch Angela yet. It’s going to be the games against Angus and Gordon that define the results of this box! Alex is also making himself known and is definitely not out of the race for a promotion spot, with 2 games in hand and some interesting matches coming up, he too could be the wild card that topples Angela’s reign at the top!

Box 10 also finds itself in a very interesting situation. Ann has taken a 3-0 win off of Raghbir, meaning that now all of the currently active participants have played each other, and the probable final positions have been made clear. Ann is currently 3 points clear up at the top, with Elisa in 2nd place a comfortable 5 points ahead of Raghbir, and Bal in 4th 4 points behind Raghbir. With all 4 now only needing to play the remaining 2 players in the box, it could all come down to who gets their games in and who doesn’t. But if all games are played, it’s really now just a battle for 2nd place as Ann sits comfortably in an unassailable position in the promotion zone!
