One of the aspects we’re proudest of at the Scotstoun Eagles is our balance of female/ male members. This is because a key part of of our mission is to actively encourage and support women to take up squash. It’s a great sport to play for tons of reasons – fitness, social, individual, competition to name only a few! We focus on creating a social and supportive learning environment in all of sessions, so if you’ve not played before then don’t worry about it – You’ll definitely have fun!

All of the mixed sessions are fully integrated and have a great attendance from our women in all of them. So much so that many of our sessions are almost 50% women!

We have a session specifically for ladies beginners to give a great first experience (every Tuesday night). This session is always well attended, and uses three courts. With an emphasis on being sociable, we do some basic practise skills to help learn the concepts and skills of squash, and then finish with some friendly timed games. All are welcome, and there’s no need to book – just sign in at reception!

We also host Ladies Introduction sessions regularly through the year, to encourage more women to come along and try squash. If you would like to come along to our next session just contact us – and if you would like to bring along a friend then that’s no problem either 🙂

The more women we can get playing squash the better – come along and join in!

If you fancy playing competitively, then Scotstoun is the place to join. With more ladies teams than any other club in the West of Scotland, we provide more women with more opportunity to play team squash. For those new to competitive squash, further information on playing in the teams can be found in our Guide to Team Squash.

In a competitive sense, our women have a great record. Winning the West of Scotland Ladies league in Season 2018/19 was an immense achievement for a young club like Scotstoun (we only opened in 2013). Not only that, all this was achieved with home grown players and members.
